Training
In 2024, Act on Energy became an AIM-accredited training centre, which allowed us to start developing and delivering our own qualifications and certificates. We have developed our training courses to be relevant to a wide variety of businesses in different sectors, as well as having a selection of bitesize courses that are adaptable to create bespoke packages.
Since the original launch of our training offer, we have been working with a number of organisations to deliver the courses to their staff and volunteers. The courses have helped further their staff knowledge to support changes in their own lives, in the business’ day-to-day, and in how they work with clients.
We currently have two qualifications, two Quality Mark certificates, and nine bitesize courses ready to be delivered, as well as offering free consultations for businesses who want a bespoke offer.
Our highest level qualification is our Level 3 Award in Delivering Information, Advice or Guidance, which is aimed towards people who work directly with clients and can be adapted to suit all topics of advice; whether it’s supporting through services or sales, it can help improve the way someone communicates and relays information with different types of clients.
Many of our other courses work on increasing the knowledge needed for the rapidly expanding green skills movement. In the coming years, all businesses will need to have an aspect of sustainability within their practices, and upskilling staff will help make the transition smoother. Our Level 1 Award in Environmental Sustainability, teaches enrolees about what this means, why it’s important and how it can be utilised in the workplace and our everyday lives.
For frontline workers, and people who work in social care or indirectly with vulnerable customers, we also have courses that help expand enrolees’ knowledge to provide further support to these customers and support more informed decision-making due to the information provided. We are currently working with a number of housing associations to help better their understanding of how housing stock can affect vulnerable clients and how to decrease the risk of damp and mould, as well as high energy usage.
So far, we have received positive feedback from all the courses we have delivered, as well as seeing repeat customers who, after purchasing their first course, have come back to look at even more courses.
