Energy Efficiency Awards 2026
Earlier this month, Act on Energy were invited to this year’s West Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards, and we were delighted to win Regional Vulnerable Customer Support Organisation of the Year for the second year running.
As well as winning this award, Act on Energy along with our Business Development Manager, Paul Muckle, were runner-up for Regional Energy Consultant/Consultancy of the Year and Regional Business Development Manager/Director of the Year. This is a great result, as we have only recently started to develop our business-to-business work over the last 12 months. 2025 has seen us deliver training to national organisations that will support their work with providing support to people experiencing fuel poverty. A number of housing associations, as well as some well-known energy suppliers, have received training from our team to help their staff understand more on consumer vulnerability and learn from the real-life examples that our trainers have experienced working in our local community.
As well as our internal training offers, Act on Energy have also partnered with Synergy Training Centre to offer heavily discounted professional training to people working in the retrofit or energy efficiency sector, to help support their professional development. With the new Warm Homes plan coming into effect in the near future, as well as the Warm Homes: Local Grant and Devolution schemes that have recently opened to the general public, it is pivotal that contractors and retrofit advisors are up-to-date on the newest technology and challenges that customers have experienced when receiving insulation and low-carbon technology installs. Retrofit is developing and changing quickly, so investing in continued professional development for people already working in the sector is crucial in ensuring the smooth-running of these new installation schemes.
Working with vulnerable residents is our core purpose and it’s wonderful to be recognised for our work in the community. Over the last few years, we have seen a real need for businesses and charities to be supported in the same way, and it’s great that we are now able to offer business energy advice, with support from Omnium. Organisations of all sizes are able to benefit from a free energy bill check: we have already supported with identifying £100,000s of savings for local businesses and charities.
We are proud to have received these awards and recognition from the West Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards, and will continue to prove that the work we do and the support we deliver is worthy of the titles.
