Redditch Borough Council HUG 2
The Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 (HUG2) scheme aims to improve the warmth and comfort of homes that do not have mains-gas heating.
The Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 (HUG2) scheme aims to improve the warmth and comfort of homes that do not have mains-gas heating.
The Home Upgrade Grant (HUG2) is for people who don’t use mains gas to heat their homes. However, households are still eligible for the scheme if they are connected to mains gas for something other than heating (such as cooking).
The Grant will pay for a range of energy efficiency measures including insulation and heating upgrades.
Worcestershire County Council has obtained funding through the UK government’s Help to Heat schemes to improve the energy efficiency of low-income households with low Energy Performance Certificate ratings.
The HUG2 scheme aims to improve the warmth and comfort of homes that do not have mains-gas heating, whilst also reducing energy bills, carbon emissions and levels of fuel poverty across the county.
A range of energy efficiency improvements have been made available through this scheme and include clean heating solutions, such as air source heat pumps and insulation measures.
You don’t need to contribute as this is a grant scheme, but certain criteria will apply.
Please note that all applications are subject to a technical survey and an application acceptance does not guarantee that work will go ahead.
You and your home will need to meet all of the following criteria:
Some postcodes are automatically eligible for the scheme, meaning that off-gas grid and EPC D-G rated homes in these postcode areas are consequently qualified for the Home Upgrade Grant.
To find out if you live in one of the automatically eligible postcodes, please click this link: Redditch Borough Council IMD eligible postcodes (opens a PDF in a new tab).
Properties in the private rented sector are eligible for this scheme but only where the landlord has no more than 4 properties. Please note that if you are a landlord, you will be expected to contribute to the cost of any works undertaken.
Taking advantage of this opportunity is simple.
