Home Upgrade Grant (2)

The Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) 2 is for off-gas grid homes (i.e. those which are not heated using mains gas, such as properties that use oil, liquid petroleum gas (LPG), coal, solid fuels, or electricity for heating purposes). Households connected to the mains gas grid for heating purposes are not eligible, including where the primary heating source of a mains gas boiler is broken and the secondary heating source is electricity.

A range of energy efficiency measures are available for properties which have an EPC rating of D, E, F or G. The measures installed are fully dependent on the suitability of the property following a survey which will be provided free of charge.

Eligibility criteria are set by the Government and will be available on our website shortly.

Please keep an eye on this page for further details.

Terms of the scheme

Sustainable Warmth is delivered by North Warwickshire Borough Council in partnership with Act on Energy. Sustainable Warmth scheme is funded by the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (ESNZ) and combines Phase 3 of the Local Authority Delivery (LAD) scheme and the Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) scheme – Phase 1.

The scheme aims to raise the energy efficiency of low-income and low EPC-rated homes including those living in the most inefficient off-gas grid homes, delivering progress toward reducing fuel poverty, phasing out high carbon fossil fuel heating and the UK’s commitment to net zero by 2050.

Households that are eligible for support through the scheme can benefit from the installation of a range of measures, which can reduce and prevent heat and energy loss in the home, reduce fuel bills, as well as support switches to renewable sources of energy.

Please note that all applications are subject to a technical survey and an application acceptance does not guarantee that work will go ahead.
