Home Upgrade Grant

(Phase 2)

The Home Upgrade Grant (HUG2) is for people who don’t use mains gas to heat their homes. However, households are still eligible for the scheme if they are connected to mains gas for something other than heating (such as cooking).

The Grant will pay for a range of energy efficiency measures including insulation and heating upgrades.

A range of energy efficiency measures are available for properties which have an EPC rating of D, E, F or G. The measures installed are fully dependent on the suitability of the property following a survey which will be provided free of charge.

Eligibility criteria are set by the Government and will be available on our website shortly.

Please keep an eye on this page for further details.

Sustainable Warmth Grant

North Warwickshire Borough Council has obtained funding through the national Local Authority Development Scheme (LADS) to improve the energy efficiency of low-income households and low EPC rated homes, including those living in the lowest quality off-gas grid homes across their district.

A range of measures have been made available through this scheme, which can reduce and prevent heat and energy loss in the home and reduce fuel bills.

Applications for this scheme are now closed.

This scheme is now closed for applications but installations will continue for on gas properties until September 2023.

There are further schemes being planned so do keep an eye on our website or call us on 0800 988 2881.

Terms of the scheme

Sustainable Warmth is delivered by North Warwickshire Borough Council in partnership with Act on Energy. Sustainable Warmth scheme is funded by the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (ESNZ) and combines Phase 3 of the Local Authority Delivery (LAD) scheme and the Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) scheme – Phase 1.

The scheme aims to raise the energy efficiency of low-income and low EPC-rated homes including those living in the most inefficient off-gas grid homes, delivering progress toward reducing fuel poverty, phasing out high carbon fossil fuel heating and the UK’s commitment to net zero by 2050.

Households that are eligible for support through the scheme can benefit from the installation of a range of measures, which can reduce and prevent heat and energy loss in the home, reduce fuel bills, as well as support switches to renewable sources of energy.

Please note that all applications are subject to a technical survey and an application acceptance does not guarantee that work will go ahead.
