Act on Energy’s journey began as Warwickshire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre (WEEAC) in 1998 when they were created by Stratford on Avon District Council.

WEEAC assisted the District Council in meeting their obligations under the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995 and was part of the Energy Saving Trust network of 52 sub-regional centres, providing energy advice across the whole United Kingdom.

We became independent of the Council in April 1999 but continue to work with central and local government and social landlords to achieve their energy efficiency, sustainable energy and affordable warmth objectives.

In 2008 we celebrated our ten year anniversary and marked the event by rebranding the charity as Act on Energy. This new name reflected our vision as a future thinking organisation and desire to promote ourselves as more than solely an advice organisation.
