Warm Home Discount

The Warm Home Discount has been introduced by the government to provide rebates on gas and electricity bills for vulnerable customers.

Eligible customers will be identified and contacted directly by utility companies and will recieve a rebate of up to £120 in 2011-12 (rising to £140 in 2014-15) which will appear as a separate entry on customer's bills.

The Warm Home Discount will be offered to a core group of customers in receipt of Pension Credit Guarantee. There will also be discretionary rebate support offered by utility companies to a broader group of customers who are fuel poor or at risk of fuel poverty.

The Warm Home Discount is designed to replace Social Tariffs, which will be phased out over the next few years.
