Renewables

The Government has a target to produce 10% of all UK electricity from renewable sources by 2010 and 20% by 2020. It currently stands at around 3%.

Fossil fuels, coal gas and oil, generate around 73% of our electricity and nuclear power provides 22%. None of this is sustainable so we need to move towards energy sources that will not run out and will not result in long term damage to the environment.
