Install Insulation

Install Insulation pages:

Insulation is one of the cheapest and most effective ways to keep your home warm and reduce your energy bills. This should always be done before considering any renewable energy technologies.

Insulation is something which most houses have but the amount varies greatly. Building Regulations have progressively increased the requirement for more insulation in new homes and this should be considered the minimum standard for existing homes as well. To this end householders can make their homes as good as new homes by additing more insulation.

The most cost effective insulation:

  • Loft Insulation
  • Cavity Wall Insulation

However, if you don‘t have cavity walls, they can still be insulated but it will be more expensive and doesn’t attract grants. For more information on other options call us on 0800 988 2881.

If your home does not have sufficient insulation you could be losing a huge amount of heat from your home. Typical heat loss from your home could be:

  • Roof up to 25%
  • Walls up to 35%
  • Front Door up to 15%
  • Windows 10%

These figures show why wall and loft insulation is so worthwhile and why the Governement and energy suppliers concentrate thir grants on these. The Energy Saving Trust has calculated that the cost of loft insulation would be paid back through reduced energy bills within one year.

Over the last five years alone, energy bills have risen from around £450 to £1200 per year and with the likelihood of more price rises to come, households need to look at their heat loss and reduce it.

Not only will this help reduce bills and make the home more energy efficient but it will also reduce the amount of C02 released into the atmosphere. For qualifying homes there are grants for cavity wall and loft insulation available from the government and energy suppliers.

Insulation is incredibly easy to install in your loft and cavity wall insulation can be completed by an approved contractor in half a day.

More information can be found in our cavity wall and loft insulation sections.
