Green Loans

The government and many banks and building societies are now offering “green loans” to home owners. These are loans which are to be used specifically for sustainable or green projects in and around the home.

The loans are being offered at cheaper interest rates or fixed repayments and also extend to retired people or those on low income or pension schemes to help them make their homes more energy efficient.

People can apply to banks or building societies directly or contact your local council for more information.

If you are looking to make any of the below improvements to your home then you may be eligible to receive a green loan:

• Cavity Wall Insulation
• Renewable Energy such as solar panels, photovoltaic panels, ground source heating
• Double/triple glazing
