Green Grants

There are three types of grants and funding available for people who are looking to improve the energy efficiency of their home.

Government Grants

These are targeted at low income households or elderly people who may not be able to adequately heat their homes this winter or who may not be able to afford to make their home more energy efficient in order to save money on fuel bills. Schemes which are available are:

• Warm Front
• Winter Fuel Payments
• Cold Weather Payments

Energy Supplier, Banks and Building Societies

Alongside many of the government's schemes are grants and financial help from energy suppliers to help people improve their homes. Typical offers are:

• Low energy light bulbs
• Loft Insulation
• Cavity Wall insulation

The banks and building societies in the UK are also encouraging homeowners to install energy saving or renewable energy systems by offering low interest loans or fixed rate loans specifically for people who want to invest in green projects.
