There are also courses which are available nationally which will enable you to achieve a qualification in subjects surrounding energy efficiency.

National Energy Action offers an Energy Awareness course which is specifically designed to increase knowledge about how to save energy in the domestic sector and can lead to a City & Guilds qualification.

The Energy Awareness course is held at various locations across the UK and is held over 3 days. The course will provide attendees with a solid foundation in energy efficiency enabling them to provide good advice on a variety of topics.

Aspects covered in the course are:

• Heating and hot water systems, controls, thermostats and programmers found in the home
• Efficient use and function of heating and hot water systems
• Recording electricity and fuel consumption
• Interpreting the cost of fuel
• Improving energy efficiency in the home
• Grant and funding for energy efficiency
• Condensation and damp

The course costs up to £520.00 + vat and exam fees up to £234.00 + vat.
